How Coverage Navigator Decides What to Show

Coverage Navigator maps a business profile to the coverage categories that apply to it. Every category it shows carries a citation to the state statute, industry norm, or contract pattern behind it. It names no insurers, ranks no products, and has no commercial relationship with any carrier — there is nothing for a commission to influence.

It labels each category by what is observably true: Required means a state statute mandates it; Commonly carried and Sometimes carried describe what businesses with that profile typically hold. None of these is a recommendation to buy.

Our analysis draws on publicly available material: state insurance department publications and statutes, NAIC consumer guidance, federal industry data, and documented commercial lease and vendor contract patterns.
